Just wondering how a team with the best player from division1 and other players of a similar standard are in division 3 - REALLY ? I know that generally new teams have to start in the bottom league, but things like this really do not make any sense at all. Common sense and a duty to ensure that the lower league teams at least have a chance each week to enjoy their darts. Surely these players would want to play against players of a similar standard - would they not? . They will surely get no real pleasure from smashing up division 3 players who play darts every week and enjoy it every bit as much as the players who are at a higher standard. The league title is already decided in Div 3 (before it even started) there's second place to play for only. Rant over but maybe the league committee should review this for future seasons. these are of course my thoughts only

All new teams start from the lowest division.
A team should be based on their past achievements and it adds more competition and game experience for all teams involved. There is nothing to say that a team you deem to be of a higher standard could have a bad week or a bad couple of weeks. Or for your team to improve beyond what you believe they are able to do to.
Nothing is 100% certain.
And Based on your theory, if a team that is regularly in Division 3 registers new players from higher division teams then they should also be moved up the divisions.... it doesn't work that way.

Danielle, common sense really should come into play to ensure that the leagues are as fair and even as possible - most players are well known to the league - these ones certainly are - when a new team is made up of players clearly at a much higher standard than everyone else in the league they have been placed in it should be considered where they start - it just becomes a bit silly otherwise - that's all The admin and committee do a great job otherwise

Fair and even means every team and every player get treated the same. If they choose to start a new team then they go through the same process as everyone else and all teams are aware of this. The other option is for them to join an existing Division 1 team. We all win and lose games/matches and this is part of sport and competition and no player improves without experiencing a challenge and without practice.
*You also need to consider that team/player registration sheets are not handed in until the 30th of this month so I have no idea who is signed to what team unless they have played a game and I have entered their details.*

I understand your point and I was trying to give an explanation why it isn't possible to change the new team rules with also keeping a fair and even approach to the division. I am also unaware of who is signed up to what team, which is the same for every new season, so cannot comment specifically on any team.
I hope Ive managed to answer your queries.
